The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is currently operating with Airwolf Lithium batteries in our MD500E platform. Compared to legacy batteries, the new Airwolf battery kit has provided for more reliable battery starts in our aircraft greatly reducing start temperatures and providing for faster starting cycles. Prior to transitioning to the new batteries, off-site battery starts resulted in slow and very warm starts. That has been completely eliminated with the lithium batteries. We couldn’t be happier with the results of the new battery capabilities, not to mention the dramatic weight savings compared to legacy batteries.
